“Extinct” tree lobsters coming back. Happy birthday, giant stick insect!

Entered By: grant on July 30, 2012 No Observations

Grist welcomes a new citizen of Earth – a member of a species we thought was dead until they found a few last survivors on a barren island in the southern seas just this February. And now, we can all watch in wonder at the birth of a new tree lobster:

The return of the Lord Howe Island stick insect isn’t new information for anyone who’s been obsessively reading the Guild for the past few months, but I’d never seen the video until I got it sent to me [by Mr. Goodstein].
