We’ve talked before about Alfred Brehm.

These are his aardvarks.


After “trek,” one of the best-known Afrikaans words to make it into English. Literally, it means the same thing as “groundhog,” but is not even distantly related. Well, they’re both mammals. The aardvark is the only living species of the order Tubulidentata.

They are singular.
