This is the Early Modern Milky Way, as appearing in an edition of the ‘Poeticon Astronomicon‘ by the Latin author Hyginus (although the credit also goes to Thomas Munckerus – whether that’s because it’s a different name for the same guy, or the name of an editor or translator or the artist, I can’t tell). The engravings apparently came from an earlier edition of the ‘Phaenomena’ by the Greek poet Aratus.
The book is a collection of myths that explain the constellations.
I found it in the Linda Hall Library.
