Butterflies from the genus Euterpe, named for the muse of flute-playing and epic poetry known as the “giver of delight”… but also the name of a genus of South American cabbage palms. Nowadays, these butterflies are known as Catasticta, the Andean pierids also called “whites.” Which they aren’t, really. Just look at them.
Not white. Delightful.
More specifically:
7, 8) Euterpe Teutamis (Catasticta [Archonoia] teutamis); 9, 10) Euterpe Eurigania (Catasticta eurigania); 11, 12) Euterpe Ctemene (Catasticta ctemene); 13, 14, 15) Euterpe Anaitis (Catasticta anaitis).
