Wikimedia Commons’ description of this average-looking guy simply reads: The man in this image does not exist. This face was constructed by a GAN program.

A GAN is a generative adversarial network, a computer system (network) that generates (creates) new things by having, in essence, two computers that compete with each other (adversaries) in a game, the rules of which take old data and use it to create new data. In this case, the computer opponents made new people based on studying and modifying a whole bunch of real people’s portraits.

This person does not exist. And here he is.
